Ms. Li Tao is a senior partner and head of the Litigation and Dispute Resolution and Arbitration practice groups in the Dentons Beijing office. She has 17 years' experience as a judge and 8 years' experience as a full-time lawyer in the Beijing region. Ms. Li's business is oriented toward commercial arbitration. Her areas of expertise include corporate affairs, enterprise restructuring, enterprise bankruptcy, real estate and construction, international trade, intellectual property protection, labor law, marriage and inheritance, and dispute resolution. She is skilled at analyzing and handling civil and commercial litigation and arbitration disputes and well versed in the practical aspects of legal proceedings. In the field of litigation, Ms. Li has participated in over one thousand lawsuits. At the same time, because she has served in numerous leadership positions in litigation courts, she is well versed in practical litigation procedures. She is particularly skilled at handling difficult civil and commercial problems. Cases that she has undertaken or supervised have been included in Highlights From Chinese Trials and the guidance cases of the Supreme People’s Court.

During her eight years' practice as a full-time lawyer, Ms. Li has focused on commercial arbitration. Her challenging and innovative thinking have earned her a high success rate in arbitration cases in the China International Economic and Trade Arbitration Commission. Ms. Li possesses a solid theoretical foundation as a referee and a wealth of experience as a practicing lawyer. She makes comprehensive, in-depth and thorough judgments with regard to trial practice and can profoundly comprehend the way referees think, giving her a thorough and accurate grasp of cases. By analyzing the differences between the ways referees and lawyers think, Ms. Li has gained unique insights.
